Hi everyone! GModPatchTool just got an update which fixes some rare but high-impact issues. If you've been having trouble with it over the last few months, please update, try again, and let us know if you're still having issues!
The three headline fixes are:
We also updated our build pipeline so GModPatchTool is no longer built manually. We now use GitHub Actions with build attestation/provenance, which means you can now verify the release executables came from our public code and hasn't been tampered with. More info here:

This time, I'm happy to report that Facepunch has begun merging x86-64 to the dev branch*!
This is an important step, and it means at some point (possibly within the next couple of GMod updates), we'll see CEF and 64-bit on ALL platforms on the public (non-beta) branch!
Should this come to pass, players will no longer need to switch to a specific beta for GMod in Steam for the best experience. Just download GMod, run GModPatchTool, and go!
This CEF update may take some time as the way sandboxing works changed dramatically in CEF 138, so it won't be simple, but we're actively looking into it.
A special thank you to our Donators and Supporters for enabling us to continue development of this tool!

The three headline fixes are:
- Better localconfig.vdf handling/reading
- UAC no longer triggers on Windows in some circumstances (apparently having "patch" in the filename was enough to trigger it)
- We now use the system's proxy settings again, which may fix some situations with "error sending request"

State of Cinema/CEF
We also have an update on the state of Cinema/CEF. Last time, we let you know that CEF is now available on the Windows public (non-beta) branch of GMod.This time, I'm happy to report that Facepunch has begun merging x86-64 to the dev branch*!
* Technically they're making the dev branch 64-bit/bringing over CEF from the ground up, it's not the x86-64 branch verbatim, but close enough!
This is an important step, and it means at some point (possibly within the next couple of GMod updates), we'll see CEF and 64-bit on ALL platforms on the public (non-beta) branch!

The Next CEF Update
We don't have an update to CEF itself as part of this GModPatchTool Release, however, we're planning on doing this soon. We're currently using CEF 137, which came out in May 2025, and the stable version of CEF is currently CEF 149, so our patched version could definitely use an update. A note that GMod itself still uses CEF 86 (October 2020) when CEF is available out of the box. This CEF update may take some time as the way sandboxing works changed dramatically in CEF 138, so it won't be simple, but we're actively looking into it.
Thank You
